Stories (Doctors for America)

Harrison City, PA

PA I have many, but one that is quite intriguing is that of a middle age attorney with fibromyalgia who had to stop practicing due to her medical bills and go on medical assitance. Two points here. Not just that her medical bills lead her to bankruptcy, but that the present medical environment caused her to shift from someone contributing to our health care system to one who was no longer a burden to the private, profit seeking insurers, but to the tax payers.

ABOUT US:

We are fighting for provisions to help more patients get the care they need and to limit the power of insurance companies. Doctors for America is a grassroots movement of over 16,000 physicians and medical students in all 50 states.

ABOUT ME:

I am a Board Certified Neurologist who owns my own practice in Morgantown, West Virginia. I have been in practice for 16 years and predicted in 1993 that this system, which romanced the Primary doctors with bribes that ultimately ended, would fail miserably and lead to excessive costs and compromised care.
